Coconut oil is rarely used, but recently I have out just how beneficial it actually is for simple everyday uses here are just a few of them:
- 32 g aloe vera (you can also use conditioner if you don’t have aloe vera)
- 32 g coconut oil
- 4-6 drops essential oil (peppermint, tea tree, lavender or a combination)
Melt the coconut oil and combine with the other ingredients. Stir together and store in a plastic container. Apply a thin layer to skin and let sit a couple of minutes before shaving. The aloe will soften the leg hair whilst the coconut oil moisturizes skin, helping to prevent razor burn and skin irritation. Add the essential oil of your preference. Peppermint will give a cooling sensation, lavender is soothing and tea tree is a good antiseptic if you have cut yourself. However if coconut oil hardens or separates between uses, put the container under the shower stream before shaving to warm it up.
- 128 g coconut oil, solid
- ½ tsp VitaminE Oil
- ¼ tsp Tea tree oil
Add coconut oil to a mixing bowl and whip with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Mix in VitaminE and tea tree oil.Store in a little container, I would recommend a mason jar. Use at night after you cleanse your face. A little goes a looonngg way, use wisely.
Simply before painting nails or any time, rub little oil into your cuticle with forefinger.
- 1 teaspoon petroleum jelly
1 teaspoon coconut oil
4 drops vanilla extract
5 drops almond extract
Microwave the petroleum jelly for two minutes or until melted.Mix in the coconut oil, vanilla extract and almond extract. Pour into lip blam container and freeze for 20 minutes.
Unrefined, cold- pressed coconut oil
Put on old clothes and a towel around your shoulders because coconut oil can get a little drippy.Meausure 3-5 tablespoons of coconut oil into a bowl. The amount you put in depends on the thickness and length of your hair. The longer and thicker it is the more oil you will need to use, i wouldnt recommend using any more than 5 tablespoons otherwise your hair can appear quite greasy as it produces its own natural oils. Heat up the coconut oil, AVOID USING THE MICROWAVE. Heat it up using your hands or heat it in a small saucepan on the stove , let it cool and get warm before you use it. Rub the coconut oil into your hair evenly distributing, use your fingers to massage it down the hair shaft all the way to the tips. Pile your hair onto your head and cover it using a showercap or an old t-shirt. Wait at least 2 hours or overnight, the longer you leave it the better. Remove the wrapping and wash your hair using sulfate-free shampoo, wash it 2 or 3 times until it no longer feels oily. Let your hair dry you can blow dry it or air dry to see the effects of the conditioning treatment. It should appear soft, shiny and gleaming.
Replace it for handcream.
Use instead of cooking oil, its more healthy.
Rub a bit into your dog’s coat to nourish and and have it shiny.
I hope you have used some of these methods, these are just a few but there are plenty more even toothpaste recipes. Enjoy your day xxx
